hedha هدا

Tunisian Derja · pronoun

“hedha” (هدا) is a pronoun in Tunisian Derja meaning this, this one (masculine).

Meanings

  1. this, this one (masculine)
  2. this (before a noun)

Usage

Hedha is the masculine singular demonstrative for things nearby. The feminine is hedhi and the plural is hedhom. It is used alone ("hedha behi", this is good) or with a definite noun, placed before or after it: "hedha el ktéb" or "el ktéb hedha". It also picks up an idea: "hedha elli n7eb nqoulou", that is what I mean. In writing, the spelling with dal (هدا) is often found rather than with dhal, which reflects a pronunciation without an interdental. Pitfall: in "bel hda", it is a different word, meaning calm.

هدا الكتاب متاعي.

hedha el ktéb mte3i.
