Meanings
- sufficient, enough
- enough, that's enough
Usage
Kafi is an adjective meaning "sufficient". It comes after the noun: sbab kafi, "a sufficient reason". The feminine is kafya. It is common in formal and media registers, and everyone understands it. In everyday speech, to say "that's enough, stop!", people prefer the verb yekfi (yezzi is even more colloquial). The English "enough" is therefore rendered more naturally by yekfi. Do not confuse this word with kafi in the sense of "coffee" in some Latin spellings: context decides.
