Meanings

- to meet, to run into
Usage
Lèga, present tense ylèGi, means to go to meet someone, especially to welcome them on arrival. It is often used for the airport, the train station or the entrance to the house. It is a direct transitive verb: lèga khouh, "he went to pick up his brother". The reciprocal form tlèga, "to meet each other", is very common: tlègina fil 9ahwa, "we met up at the café". The g is pronounced hard. Do not confuse this verb with lga, "to find", which is shorter and has a different meaning.

mchit nlègi khouya fil matar
“I went to welcome my brother at the airport.”
