Usage
Lowlanin is the plural of lowel ("first"). It works as an adjective or a noun: el ayyem lowlanin, "the first days"; kenna lowlanin, "we were the first". It also takes the sense of "those of before, the ancients": jdoudna lowlanin, "our ancient ancestors". Its counterpart is the plural of thani, often pronounced thanin. Since it is a plural, it is not used for a single item. The corresponding feminine singular is lowla.
