ma3adch معادش
Tunisian Derja · particle
“ma3adch” (معادش) is a particle in Tunisian Derja meaning no longer, not anymore.
Meanings
- no longer, not anymore
Usage
Ma3adech expresses the negation "no longer": an action or state has ceased. It is placed before an imperfect verb, as in ma3adech nhebb "I no longer want", or before an adjective, as in ma3adech sghir "he is no longer small". The expression ma3adech fama means "there is no more of it". The word is very frequent in speech. Pitfall: do not add a second negation; ma3adech already contains the negation entirely, so no other ma... ch should be added to it.
Example
معادش نجّم نصبر
ma3adech najjem nosber
“I can't be patient any longer.”
