mosta3ed مستعد
Tunisian Derja · adjective
“mosta3ed” (مستعد) is an adjective in Tunisian Derja meaning ready, willing.
Meanings
- ready, willing
- prepared for
Usage
Mesta3ed means "ready" in the sense of willing to do something. It is built with bech followed by a verb (mesta3ed bech n3awnek, I'm ready to help you) or with the preposition l (mesta3ed lkol chay, ready for anything). The feminine is mesta3dda and the plural is mesta3din. The word comes from Standard Arabic but is well integrated into Derja. To say simply that a thing or person is ready, in the material sense, wajed or hadher are used instead: el makla wajda (the meal is ready).
Example
أنا مستعد نخدم معاكم
ana mesta3ed nekhdem m3akom
“I'm ready to work with you.”
