Meanings

Usage
Moumen refers to someone who has faith, in particular a practising Muslim. The word is used as an adjective (rajel moumen, "a believing man") or as a noun, especially in blessing formulas: rabbi yahmi kol moumen, "may God protect every believer". The feminine is moumna and the plural mouminin, the latter mostly in religious formulas. The register is neutral to formal, with a clear religious colouring. Moumen is also a male first name: only context distinguishes the proper name from the adjective.
