Usage
Mou'min refers to a person who believes in God, most often in a Muslim context. It is used as a noun ("a believer") or as an adjective ("he is a believer"). The word comes from religious vocabulary, but it is common in conversation, for example to talk about someone who is practising or sincere in their faith. It is often contrasted with kéfer (unbeliever) or mol7ed (atheist). In speech, the hamza often disappears and you hear momen. Its connotation is generally positive, sometimes ironic.
