Meanings

Usage
Mtkaber refers to someone who looks down on others and thinks he is better than them. The word is clearly pejorative and is often used with intensifiers: "yesser mtkaber", "mtkaber barcha". It is readily associated with the expression "7aseb rou7ou" (he thinks he's somebody). The feminine is mtkabra and the plural mtkabrin. The corresponding verb is "tkabber" (to act haughty). Note: it does not mean "big". "Grown up" is rather mkabber. The adjective targets behavior, not social success.
