“rzen” (رزن) is a verb in Tunisian Derja meaning to become heavy.
Meanings
- to become heavy
- to weigh on someone
- to become settled, calm down
Usage
Rzen (in the past tense "roznet", "she became heavy") belongs to the same family as rzin, "heavy". In the literal sense, it is said of a load that becomes burdensome. It is very often used with 3la: "rzen 3liya", "it weighs on me", for a bag as much as for a responsibility or a worry. Figuratively, it can describe mental fatigue, a heavy head from too much thinking. It can also mean, for a person, becoming settled and serious with age. Do not confuse it with rzan, "weight, seriousness". Common register.
