settmya ستميا
Tunisian Derja · numeral
“settmya” (ستميا) is a numeral in Tunisian Derja meaning six hundred.
Meanings
- six hundred
- six hundred millimes (price)
Usage
Settmya is the contracted form of "six hundred" in derja, where "six" and "hundred" are pronounced as a single word. The same pattern gives khamsmya (five hundred) or sab3amya (seven hundred). It is used wherever one counts, and especially in prices: when someone says a3tini settmya, the unit is understood and usually means millimes. In larger numbers, it comes after the thousands: setta alef w settmya (six thousand six hundred). The implied unit should therefore always be checked.
Example
الخبزة بستميا.
el khobza b settmya.
“The bread costs six hundred (millimes).”
