The word taskir is the verbal noun of sakker (to close), the common Tunisian verb for closing a door, a shop or a road. It is used for a shop's closing time (wa9t et-taskir) and for the closing of borders or schools. It also has the figurative sense of "to wrap up": taskir echhar means managing to make it to the end of the month. The opposite is 7ell (to open). Careful: sakker does not mean "to sugar"; "sugar" is sokkor.
