Usage
Taslim is the verbal noun of sallem (to hand over, to deliver). It belongs to a rather formal register: you hear it in administration, at work, in the media and in sports, for example "taslim el wra9" (the handover of the papers) or "taslim el kass" (the presentation of the trophy). In casual conversation, the verb is often preferred: "sallemt el wra9". Be careful not to confuse it with slem (the greeting, peace), which comes from the same root but does not have the same meaning. It is mainly used in a construction like taslim + complement.
