Usage
Thabet belongs to a somewhat formal register. It is heard in serious discussions, on radio or television, but also in conversation. It describes something that doesn't change: a price, a salary or a permanent job (khedma thabta, "a stable job"). It can also mean a proven fact: el 7aja thabta, "it's established". For a person, it means "steadfast, who doesn't change their mind". The feminine is thabta. In more colloquial speech, for an object that is firmly fixed, people say mrakkeb mli7 or ma yet7arrakch instead.
