Usage
Tmar is the collective noun for dates, very present in daily life in Tunisia, especially during Ramadan, when the fast is broken with dates and milk. A single date is tmra, and the best-known variety is deglet nour. Since it is a collective, one says kilo tmar or chwaya tmar, with no plural. Do not confuse it with the homographic verb tmorr (she passes / you pass), also written تمر: only context can tell them apart.
