tyassar تيسر

Tunisian Derja · verb

“tyassar” (تيسر) is a verb in Tunisian Derja meaning whatever is at hand.

Meanings

  1. whatever is at hand
  2. be possible, come easily

Usage

Tyassar is almost always used in the fixed phrase "ma tyassar", "what is available" or "what one can". People say "hezz maak ma tyassar" ("take what you find") or, for prayer, "a9ra ma tyassar" ("recite what you can of the Quran"). The expression conveys modesty and lack of demands: you offer or do whatever comes to hand, without pretension. The verb is also used alone to say that something becomes possible, often with a religious nuance, as in "ki yetyassar" ("when it becomes possible"). Do not confuse it with "to facilitate", which is yassar or sahhel.

Example

إيجا كول معانا، فمّا ما تيسّر.

ija koul m3ana, famma ma tyassar.

“Come eat with us, there's whatever we've got.”
