Meanings
- the day of (bound form)
- in "youmet ghodwa": the next day
Usage
Youmet is the bound form of "youm" (day). It is always followed by a complement: "youmet l3id" (the day of Eid), "youmet ghodwa" (the next day, the very next day). It is used mainly to place an event relative to a specific day, often in a narrative. To say simply "the day" or "the daytime", Tunisian uses "nhar" instead. Be careful not to confuse it with "lyouma", which means "today". The word is never used on its own at the end of a sentence.
