Usage
Bennisba is a phrase from Standard Arabic, but widely used in darja. It is always followed by l(i): "bennisba l l'école" means "as for school". With a pronoun, "bennisba liya" ("for me") introduces a personal opinion. It is also used to compare: "ghali bennisba l lekhla" means "expensive relative to the salary". Its register is a little more polished than the rest of the sentence, but it remains natural in speech. Speakers readily replace it with the French "par rapport" or "pour".
