Usage

Dini, an adjective, describes whatever relates to religion: "mouchkil dini" (a religious question), "bernamej dini" (a religious programme); the feminine is diniya. The word comes from the written language but is common in speech. Beware of very frequent homographs: dini can also mean "my religion" ("ma nkhsarch dini", I won't lose my religion), and ddini is the imperative "take me" of the verb dda ("ddini m3ak", take me with you). In speech, stress and gemination distinguish these forms; in writing, only context decides.
