Meanings

Usage
Hada makan literally means "this is what there is", hence "that's all, nothing more". It goes at the end of a sentence to close a list or an explanation ("jibli l'khobz w l'7lib, hada makan") or to play something down ("7kit m3ah chwiya, hada makan"). In the feminine, you say hadi makan when referring to a feminine thing or to a situation. Makan on its own is also used to mean "only" ("khamsa makan", only five). The expression is neutral, colloquial and very frequent. Be careful not to confuse it with makanch (there isn't/aren't any).
