lasq لاصق

Algerian Darja · adjective

“lasq” (لاصق) is an adjective in Algerian Darja meaning stuck, glued to.

Meanings

  1. stuck, glued to
  2. clinging to someone
  3. high, stoned (slang)

Usage

Lasq is the participle of the verb lsaq, "to stick". It is said of what adheres to something, and above all, figuratively, of someone who won't leave you alone or stays attached to a place: lasq fiya (he's stuck to me), lasq f-le téléphone (glued to the phone). It agrees in gender and number: lasqa in the feminine, lasqin in the plural. In youth slang, it can also mean being under the influence of a drug, hence a possible ambiguity. So pay attention to context before using it.

Example

راهو لاصق فيا نهار كامل

rahou lasq fiya nhar kamel

“He's been stuck to me all day.”
