nta نتا
Algerian Darja · pronoun
“nta” (نتا) is a pronoun in Algerian Darja meaning you (masculine singular).
Meanings
- you (masculine singular)
Usage
Nta is the second-person singular masculine personal pronoun. For a woman, one says nti. Since the verb already carries the person marking, nta is mainly used for emphasis or contrast: nta wach dakhlek ?, "and you, what business is it of yours?". It is also used before an adjective or a noun, without a verb: nta mlih, "you are kind". Some regions use a reinforced form, ntaya. In practice, the masculine pronoun does not vary by region.
