Meanings

  1. link (internet)

Usage

Rabet is used mainly for an internet link: that of a channel, a group or a video. It is very common in comments and written messages: "ab3atli rabet" (send me the link). The word comes from Standard Arabic. In speech, many Algerians say "le lien" or "link" instead. It is often built with taa: "rabet taa la chaîne" (the channel's link). The plural is rawabet, which also serves in the figurative sense of ties between people, but that use is more formal.
