Usage
Sawwar is the usual verb for "to take a photo" or "to film". It is used with a direct object (sawwar l'bhar, "he photographed the sea") or with m3a to say one poses with someone: sawwar m3a l'joueur, "he took a photo with the player". In the imperative one often hears sawwarni, "take a photo of me". The corresponding noun is taswira, or often tsawer in the plural. It does not distinguish between photo and video: only the context does. The French "filmer" is also heard, but sawwar remains the most natural term in conversation.
