3adi عادي

Moroccan Darija · adjective

“3adi” (عادي) is an adjective in Moroccan Darija meaning normal, ordinary.

Meanings

  1. normal, ordinary
  2. no problem, it's fine
  3. so-so, average

Usage

3adi is extremely common. As an adjective it means "normal, ordinary". Used on its own, it reassures or plays things down: "3adi" means "no problem", "no worries". In reply to "kif jak ?" (how did you find it?), it means "meh, nothing special", which makes it less positive than it seems. Before a verb it expresses possibility: "3adi nji" (I can come, it's no problem). The feminine is 3adya.
