fekker فكّر
Moroccan Darija · verb
“fekker” (فكّر) is a verb in Moroccan Darija meaning to think, reflect.
Meanings
- to think, reflect
- to remind (someone)
- to remember
Usage
Fekker, present kayfekker, is the ordinary verb for "to think, reflect". It is constructed with f: fekker f… means "to think of…". Fekker f rasek means "think of yourself". With a direct object pronoun, the meaning changes: fekkerni means "remind me", as in fekkerni ghedda ("remind me tomorrow"). "To think of someone" is fekker f flan, not fekker flan. The form tfekker means "to remember". For "to believe that", dher li or ban li is used instead.
