Meanings

- to change, reverse
- to search everywhere, rummage
Usage
Gleb is the g pronunciation of qleb, a form found in many regions. Its primary meaning is "to turn over, to put upside down", as in gleb t-tobsil, "turn the plate over". It also means "to change, reverse": gleb l-hedra, "change the subject", or gleb s-sfa7a, "turn the page". The derived verb glleb, with the preposition 3la, means "to look for": kanglleb 3la sarout, "I'm looking for the key". To say that someone has switched sides or changed attitude, the reflexive form tgleb is used. Take care not to confuse gleb, "to turn over", with glleb, "to look for".
