Usage
Gnṭra, written with a final tā' marbuta, is the spelling closest to the classical written form. It is pronounced like gnṭra and means a bridge: over a wadi, a road or a railway. Many speakers say qenṭra with a q, others pronounce g. Both forms coexist and are understood everywhere. The word is used for getting one's bearings or for talking about floods that cut off crossings. The plural is qnaṭer or gnaṭer.
