“wsel” (وصل) is a verb in Moroccan Darija meaning to arrive, reach.

Meanings

  1. to arrive, reach
  2. to deliver, take someone (wessel)
  3. to reach a level, an age

Usage

Wsel is the usual verb for "to arrive". It is used with l or with a direct object: wselt l dar, "I arrived home". In the perfect, you often hear wselt, wselti, wslna. The question wselti? is used to check that someone has arrived safely. It also applies to a moment that comes (wsel lwqt) or a message received (wselni lmessage). The intensive form wessel is transitive: to deliver a parcel, to drop someone off by car. Do not confuse it with wsef (to describe). The noun lwsel (receipt, voucher) is a separate word.
