zid 3liha زيد عليها
Moroccan Darija · expression
“zid 3liha” (زيد عليها) is an expression in Moroccan Darija meaning on top of that, moreover.
Meanings
- on top of that, moreover
- add to that
Usage
Zid 3liha literally means "add to it". It is used in a list to introduce an additional argument or item, often one more drawback: "and what's more", "on top of everything". The register is informal and very common in speech. One also hears "zid 3lih" (masculine) and "w zid" alone, with the same meaning. The final pronoun -ha refers vaguely to the situation and does not denote a specific noun. So there is no need to try to make it agree.
Example

lkhedma b3ida, zid 3liha lkhelsa 9lila
“The job is far away, and on top of that the pay is low.”
