  2. to carry, take on

Usage

In Tunisian, 7mel is mostly used in the sense of "to bear" or "to tolerate". It is very often heard in the negative: ma n7emlouch, "I can't stand him", or ma ne7mel7ech, "I can't stand her". For physically "carrying" an object, hezz is preferred; 7mel keeps a nuance of burden or responsibility. Said of a wadi, el wed 7mel means the river is in flood, and el 7mal means the flood. The spelling alone does not tell you whether it is the noun 7aml, "pregnancy" or "load". Context decides.
