Usage

Intakheb is commonly used in Tunisia to talk about elections. It takes a direct object: "bech nintakhbou", "I'm going to vote for him"; "chkoun intakhabt ?", "who did you vote for?". Used without an object, it means "to go and vote". The corresponding noun is intikhābāt, "elections". Unlike "to vote for", no preposition is placed before the candidate.
