Meanings
- relaxed, at ease
- carefree, laid-back
Usage
Mfarhed describes a person who is relaxed, feels good and has no worries, often after an outing, a holiday or a moment of rest. It is used in an informal register, among friends: "nheb nkoun mfarhed" (I want to be at peace, to unwind). It is related to the verb farhed / tfarhed, "to unwind, to take one's mind off things". It does not mean "happy" in the strong sense: the idea is loosening up, the absence of pressure. The feminine is mfarhda; the plural is mfarhdin. It readily goes with words like mriguel (sorted, in order).
