Meanings
- man
- husband
- brave, honorable man
Usage
Rajel refers to an adult man, and very often to the husband: rajli (my husband), rajel w martou (the husband and his wife). The plural is rjel, also used as collective praise. Calling someone rajel is praising their courage, loyalty or keeping their word: enti rajel (you're a good person). The praise can be addressed to a woman. Conversely, mouch rajel is a harsh reproach. Context tells the sense "man" from the sense "husband".
