s7i7 صحيح

Tunisian Derja · adjective

“s7i7” (صحيح) is an adjective in Tunisian Derja meaning true, right, correct.

Meanings

  1. true, right, correct
  2. strong, sturdy, tough
  3. stubborn (ras s7i7)

Usage

S7i7 has two main families of meaning. The first is "true, right": klem s7i7 (right words), and s7i7? (is that true?). The second, very Tunisian, is "strong, solid, hard": rajel s7i7 (a sturdy man), and chedd s7i7 (to hold on firmly, to work hard). Ras s7i7, "hard head", means "stubborn". The feminine is s7i7a. Context tells "correct" from "sturdy": an object or a person that is s7i7 is solid, a statement that is s7i7a is true.
