akhor أخر

Moroccan Darija · adjective

“akhor” (أخر) is an adjective in Moroccan Darija meaning other (masculine).

Meanings

  1. other (masculine)
  2. last (form akhir)
  3. additional, further

Usage

Akhor (feminine akhra, plural akhrin) means "other". It is placed after the noun, often preceded by chi or wa7ed: chi nhar akhor (another day), wa7ed akhor (someone else). Do not confuse it with akhir or lakher, which means "last": hadi akhir merra (this is the last time). In writing, the two words often share the same spelling, hence the confusion. The shortened form khor is also heard in some dialects.

Example
