e5er اخر

Tunisian Derja · adjective

“e5er” (اخر) is an adjective in Tunisian Derja meaning other.

Meanings

  1. other
  2. last
  3. end (of something)

Usage

E5er first means "other" and is placed after the noun: "wa7ed e5er" (another one), "nhar e5er" (another day). The feminine is "o5ra" ("marra o5ra", another time). It also means "last" when it comes before the noun, pronounced "e5er" or "a5ir": "e5er marra" (the last time). As a noun, it means the end: "e5er el 3am" (the end of the year). The expression "mel e5er" means "in the end, in short"; at the market, "mel e5er 9adech ?" asks for the final price. Pitfall: word order changes the meaning between "other" and "last".

Example

جيبلي واحد آخر

jibli wa7ed e5er

“Bring me another one.”
