Usage
Le verbe tkhayyel signifie « imaginer ». À l'impératif, tkhayyel (au féminin tkhayyli) sert très souvent à introduire une hypothèse, comme « imagine » ou « figure-toi » en français : tkhayyel kun..., « imagine si... ». La construction ma ymkench tkhayyel..., « tu ne peux pas imaginer... », sert à insister. On peut aussi l'employer pour quelqu'un qui se fait des idées ou exagère : ma tbqach tkhayyel. Le registre est courant, compris de tous, un peu plus soutenu que des tournures comme dir f bal-ek. Le nom correspondant est khayal, « imagination ».
